Location: Vancouver BC | Completed: 2006
Interior design firm took over the dilapidated top floor of a five storey 1970’s office building in downtown Vancouver to create a functional collaborative studio environment. The approach was to reuse as much of the existing materials as possible and use an unconventional methodology in other areas. Among the salvaged materials were the glass office partitions used for the meeting room, the reception desk, the millwork and fireplace in the Principal’s office and all interior doors. The PVC ceiling panels enabled the lighting to be reduced by 50%, mother-in-law’s tongue plants were used as a natural air purifier and the boardroom chairs were reupholstered in reclaimed material.
