Founder & Principal
Jim Toy is the Principal of False Creek Design Group which he founded in 1994. Jim acts as the lead designer on all FCDG projects. A native of Manitoba, he moved to British Columbia while still in high school. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Architecture from the University of British Columbia in 1989. Jim is a Past President of the Interior Designers Institute of British Columbia where he continues to act in an advisory capacity on matters of policy and regulatory issues.
He has also served as the Chair of the not-for-profit Architecture Foundation of British Columbia. Jim’s extensive experience, broad knowledge of building design, both interior and exterior, and renowned skill and craftsmanship have contributed to his highly regarded reputation. In his spare time, Jim’s a devoted world traveler and a gourmet cook.
